Our Partner

The Southampton African American Museum is the perfect place to host the BPE as it’s internationally known for its work highlighting the Revolutionaries who paved the way for Black People in the Hamptons. Every year, visitors from around the world come to the museum to get a glimpse of its rich and powerful history. The Museum itself is on historic land which was once a Barber Shop, Beauty Salon and Juke Joint. It served as a pivotal place for Black People from the Hamptons to congregate and fellowship at the turn of the 19th century. Today it’s recognized as an historic landmark thanks to the activism of its founder Brenda Simmons.
